Questions
FAQ
rootLRN is the Learning Resource Network for schools and bootcamps. Short answers first. The platform page has the detail.
What is rootLRN?
A learning platform with five courses: IT Support, Basic Networking, Operating Systems, Security, and Advanced Networking. The public lab catalog is 177. Every lesson has 5 Ways to Learn. Labs run in the browser, including real Linux. Windows and Cisco practice panels are labeled as simulations. Networking labs add a network map. Practice Exams show which objectives still need work.
Does Eye Tracking record video?
No. Eye Tracking is optional and off by default. It runs in the browser, and no video or images ever leave the device. Students can view or delete their data at /my-data.
Is rootLRN affiliated with CompTIA?
No. Courses are aligned to published exam objectives but are independent rootLRN material.
How do colleges or training commands run a pilot?
Start a free pilot at /pilot/start: 30 students for 30 days. When it ends, lessons and labs lock until someone redeems a code. Academy pricing is $49 per seat per month or $429 per seat per year. The no-login demo stays free. A personal sample account is not the pilot and does not expire. Have a pilot code? Redeem it.
How does Academy pricing compare?
Academy is $49 per seat per month, which is $588 a year, or $429 per seat per year. $429 is about 7% under a typical $460 four-tool stack (an e-book, a cloud lab, a practice bank, and a reports add-on). Monthly billing is the higher price. A campus LMS, hosted Moodle, a training catalog, or a course shop can look cheaper because you still buy or write the course, the lab, and the practice exam. The comparison is on /compare. The calculator is on /roi. There is no card checkout on this site.
